Privacy
Dead Rounds keeps a small amount of data to see how many people visit and to balance the game. There are no ads, no third-party trackers and no cookies.
What is recorded for everyone
- The pages you open, the site that linked you here (only its domain name), campaign tags in the link, your screen size, language, time zone, whether the device is a touch device, and how long the page was in use.
- Your matches: map, rounds reached, kills, where and how players went down, what was bought, and how the game ran (frame rate, the name of your graphics card, load times, errors).
- Player names are not stored with any of it.
This is anonymous and needs nothing stored on your device, so it is collected for every visit. It is how we find out which rounds are too hard, which guns nobody uses, and whether the game runs well enough.
How visitors are counted
To count unique visitors without storing anything on your device, the server combines your IP address and your browser's identification string with a random value that changes every day, and keeps only a short fingerprint of the result. Your IP address is never saved, and the daily value is thrown away at the end of the day, so visits cannot be linked from one day to the next.
The optional id
The bar at the bottom of the page asks whether we may keep an anonymous id on your device. If you click Allow, a random id is saved in your browser's local storage and sent along with the data above. It only tells us that the same browser came back another day. No thanks saves only that answer, so the bar does not come back. To change your mind, clear this site's data in your browser and answer again.
Where it is kept
On the game's own server in Germany. Page data is deleted after 13 months. Match statistics are kept, but contain nothing that identifies you. Nothing is sold or shared with anyone.
